For me, the stigma of becoming a man has always been associated with the expression of strength and the suppression of emotion. Regardless of whether my pain was physical or emotional and regardless of my age, whenever I spoke of something untoward I was told to just get over it and man up!
In turn, I grew up feeling like it wasn’t ok to open up and talk about my feelings. Once I looked into this further however, I realised that I was not alone.
Welcome to man down.
This is a safe space for men to come along and share what’s really going on in their lives. It’s a judgment-free zone where sharing is encouraged but not compulsory.
It’s time to stop putting each other down, and instead, start lifting each other up.
See you there.
